Can we get a retro Batman game up in here? Which ones are the best? Which ports are worth checking out?

>> No.2075491

On the NES, Batman 1989 goes without saying. Return of the Joker is also awesome but it's hard as shit. I hear the NES port of Batman Returns is also worth a shot.

It kicks ass. Batman Returns and The Adventures of Batman & Robin on SNES are great too.

I grew up playing Batman Forever on the SNES. It was hard as fuck and I didn't have the manual so I couldn't do literally any of the special gadget combos, which seemed like a really thorough system. It also had some cool training and two player modes.

The Game Boy version of that game is pretty great too. It vas very different level design compared to its NES counterpart.

The best. And not just as a Batman game, it's also a great technical showcase of what the MD/Genesis could do.

Play Batman Returns for SNES

It's so satisfying to slam fags into the walls.

Yeah Batman Returns on NES is pretty overlooked imo. Very solid beat em up, though it gets challenging very early on.
It's not a port though, each Batman Returns, no matter the platform, is a unique game.

I just wish it had a 2 players mode, but the same could be said for Batman Returns on SNES.

One of the best SMS titles, unfortunately is pretty underrated.

Awesome. Played the shit outta this back in the day.
Similar version on GG too. Slightly different but same game at its core.

My uncle in Mexico used to have this game for the SNES. Every time I play it I flash back to Christmas in 90's spending the holidays with my grand parents and uncles.

I didn't like it however I think people claim it's way worse than it really is. Really my only flaw with the game was the lack of enemy variety making the idea of incorporating fighting game mechanics into a beat em up feel worthless because you just find yourself uppercutting them most the time.

And back to times when your chances of ending up in a concrete filled steel drum were slightly lower.

> Return of the Joker

Mah Nigga. I played the fuck out of this on the MegaDrive (as Revenge of the Joker)

No, man, it absolutely does deserve the shit reputation it gets. Nobody gives MK Anthologies a free pass, why should Batman Forever get one? The entire concept is crap.

I personally think the SNES version is better as it's much more faithful to the show. The Two-Face level is hard as tits though.

>> No.2077706

I agree the SNES game is a lot more faithful to the show but I like the Geneiss version more as a game. Both are fine however, apples and oranges...

I wish somebody would have done a good spiderman game, I played them all and they mostly suck

>> No.2077791

I think all are pretty solid except the 5th gen games haven't tried them. Overall they're usually better than Supermang games.
>>2077768
play the Spiderman game made after the TV show was done its on DC, N64, PS1, and PC. It's very solid get DC version cause better grafx.

>> No.2078423

This game is a bit on the easy side (and came out wayyy after the movie did) but I'll be damned if this isn't THE Batman song that makes me pumped to go kick ass.
