What are some games that play like Blood Omen? And I mean like, as close as possible!

I don't think you'll find anything that compares to BO:LoK so far as the atmosphere created by the gothic presentation and god-tier voice-acting by Simon Templeman and Tony Jay.

Other than that, it's just a generic dungeon-crawler/hack 'n slash. And there are a lot of those (though my favorites are for PS2, and therefore not retro).

i prefer the monologues about blood from kain. Like when he's all disappointed about the tainted blood from the plague in his hometown coorhagen. or speaking about the walking armors being an abomination because it's life without blood. Kain really embraces his role as a vampire, I can't think of vampire related anything that makes you understand their mindset as much as blood omen did.

Not sure if retro, but I think you would be pleased with Golden Sun. It's top down view, but combat is turn based. It's essentially a JRPG, complete with summons, but very simple to play with a fairly large world to explore.
