Just bought this from Goodwill a couple of days ago. The front end label sticker was also gone with a couple of letters that you could barely make out. I took a chance on the mystery game and it was SMB/DH.

my worst would be the saturn games I have that need to be resurfaced because they don't load or freeze early on in the game. Next to that would be Super Mario World which has half the label torn off somehow (No idea how it happened).

Fortunately my games are for the most point in great condition. It's surprising considering at least half of every retro game I own is secondhand.

The worst game I own is probably Midway Greatest Hits on the GBA, and for retro my worst is one of a few Saturn games I got in a lot. They're awful. Rise of the Robots 2 and Battle Monsters come to mind.

after i had started the first level, i was like wtf is this shit - no enemies, just those two faggot hedgehogs holding a chain of gay rings and jumping through a very confusing and unclear stage set. No enemies at all, pure jumping - no running. I didn't even bother to begin the second stage....

not any video game platform at all has disappointed me as much as sega32x did.

If you mean worst game IMO, I own Daikatana, Yuyu Hakusho: Spirit Detective (and I like it), The Path,, that Smurfs 2600 game, and Superman 64. Any of those games, they're all a tie for me.

Although they are inferior to their arcade versions, Virtua Fighter and Virtua Racing are pretty decent titles (and Virtua Racing being better than Saturn version). Also, After Burner, MK2 and WWF Wrestlemania are ok. But yes, I can only think in 5 titles for the whole library, it's a shame.

It was like that way when I got it. If I had to guess I'd say water damage. I got it in a lot of other genesis stuff. Two consoles, tons of games, and every piece was heavily damaged. The RF shielding inside the consoles was almost rusted through, and I couldn't get either one to work. Most of the games had warped, shredded, or discolored inserts in their boxes, and all the ones without boxes had ruined labels. They must have been kept in a cardboard box in a leaky shed for years before they got carted off to the flea market.

I really only bought the box because it had Bloodlines, Toejam & Earl, Rocket Knight, and Truxton.

Another notable crap tier game is Star Wars for Game Boy. I know it was given relatively good reviews at the time, but that game was basura then and still is basura now. There are probably loads of worse games, but this one is just bad enough that you want to conquer it. It wasn't broken like many of the games you see on worst game lists, they just made all of the wrong decisions and came out with a crap product.

There were no franchise enemies for most of the game. Every hit jettisons you across the screen. Getting hit by water was the worst. It was often on the end of platforms you had to jump to off screen, and there are spike pits everywhere. The landspeeder handles like butt, and you have no idea where to go when you're in it. If you wait long enough something indiscernible will take you out. All of the stages and the overworld look the exact same. There's no in-game music except in the overworld. You couldn't save, but there were deathtraps all over the place, making the game more about memory than skill.

Empire Strikes Back for the Game Boy gets a lot of hate, but if it weren't for this steaming pile getting better reviews than it should have and selling well, then that wouldn't have been made.

tl;dr Star Wars for Game Boy sucks.

Jawas, Sandpeople, Banthas, Storm Troopers, Gonk droids, Tie Fighters, bounty hunters that resemble Greedo and that hooded informant with the dick on its face.

Pretty "franchisey" enough for me.
But yeah I agree the game sucks. The colour 8-bit version it was ported from is at least more playable. The GameGear version even has an extra stage than the others.

Anyways, I don't know why people constantly compare DP to Zelda considering that aside from the rumors of it using the OoT engine it seemed to take a good amount of liberties from the two N64 Zeldas in terms of gameplay aside from the combat being somewhat similar. It's got a lot of good ports. SW Arcade, Virtua Fighter/Racing, After Burner, Space Harrier, Mortal Kombat II, WrestleMania, etc. Very few original games, though - pretty much just Tempo, Chaotix, Darxide, and Shadow Squadron.

The hardware is pretty capable for 2D tasks, having a good framebuffer that works in direct-color or 256-color modes, a nice audio DAC setup, etc. Everyone wanted to do 3D stuff because it was now (barely) possible, while 2D games could just get cut-down, color-reduced, and shoved on the regular old Genesis.

The arcade version of that game is amazing.

Anyways this is the worst game I own. My brother and I actually played this not too long ago because of how hilariously bad it is.

It's actually not a bad game, I just don't make it a habit to buy bad games. It's a pretty standard fare SNES platformer with bright colors and such. It seems to get average reviews, but it's got a $25 average price tag going for it, which is what I generally see for Mario titles in my area.

Prime is pretty shit took out a lot of what was unique about the original trilogy to shoehorn it into a fps. Not jump or speed boost power ups. No enemy platforming or platforming in general. It got oddword to cash in on fps craze but oddword at least had 3rd person elements
