Yeah, very expensive since it's a CD game. The PC-Engine had a CD add-on similar to what the Genesis had with the Sega CD. The CD drives for the PC Engine are expensive and prone to maintenance problems. On top of that Rondo of Blood regularly sells for $100+ on eBay. Rondo of Blood is a fantastic game but if that's all you're after it can be had on the Wii Virtual Console or the PSP instead.

Just bought my first PC engine! I'm pretty excited for it to arrive in the coming days. I will only have dragon spirit for now... Since I am not familiar with the console, I will be asking the wife for an everdrive as a Christmas gift.........she won't get it for me though...

The reason I am even into TG16/PCE is because my friend had one and we would rock Dungeon Explorer all the time. We can beat the game without using a single life we are so good at it. That game is fucking awesome we always try to use new strats like int stacking on a warlock for super OP magic. We both know the password for the princess off by heart JBBNJ HDCOG, thats awesome you get to play it with your brother though. Honestly some of the most fun I have had with friends has been on that game.

PC Engine Lounge sounds cool, even if I've never seen a PCE in real life before, and the only games I've ever played on one are Bonk and Rondo of Blood.

Are there many good games that aren't shoot'em ups? I don't really care for those kinds of games.

I bought most of those on sale and loose so they were cheap. The turbo grafx I got with 19 games and 3 controllers in 2010 for 100 dollars that was an insane deal. The PC engine games I bought most of them loose so they were cheaper, I auctioned for a lot of them and won lots of auctions for 30 dollar complete games for less than 5 bucks because nobody else bid that was on yamatoku too so I was surprised. The CD games I also hunted a long time for fair prices, the only one I got at average price was castlevania because I had waited for years to get it.
