Which port is the best port of Mortal Kombat Trilogy?

>> No.2005114

I remember the Saturn Version most impressing me when it was new, but I can't say I recall why.

>> No.2005284

I've only played the PS1 version, but I imagine if you don't like loading go with N64.

>> No.2005313

>>2005284

N64 port is butchered as fuck.

>> No.2005327

>>2005313
So is the PlayStation version. And the Saturn version. And the PC version.

There doesn't exist a single version of the game that doesn't have performance or loading issues. A shame it's never been ported to modern systems.

>> No.2005341

I'm bothered more by the completely broken A.I in this thing.

>> No.2005353

i just got mortal kombat for the sega saturn

i was never into fighting games before and i wanted to get into them because this one seemed fun

how do i get good?

>> No.2005361

This is basically umk3 turbo edition

And sub zero's censored fatality is total bullshit

>> No.2005373

>>2005353
Unless you're playing multiplayer there is no getting good in MK games. The single player AI is a cheating fuck so it's more of a contest of who can cheat the most than who is actually good, pretty much my best advice is to learn how to cheese the AI.

None.

PS1, PC, and Saturn have the most characters, but they all suffer from the exact same bugs.

UMK3 had fucked up ports as well. Even the arcade.

>> No.2005469

What bugs did the PC version of MKT have? Other than the bullshit AI and fuck all balance (the latter being, by that point, the strength of the game). Beyond that the only bug in MKT were the loading times, but the PC version did not have any of those.

>>2005361
>And sub zero's censored fatality is total bullshit

They were just lazy to draw actual new sprites for it.

>>2005449
UMK3 arcade was fine, other than some backgrounds sometimes completely missing. Saturn port of it was good other than the loading and the lower resolution (UMK3 ran in medium res, all console and PC ports ran in low res). 16-bit ports were... um, interesting to say the least.

I guess that's one way to put it. I can't think of any other game where you can make your Genesis BSOD on command.

Has anybody played MK on the Master System?

>> No.2005521

>>2005508
Also, sprite-less Sheeva on the snes port (enter Tournament Mode and random select. If you get an 'E' character, it's Sheeva.)

>> No.2005531

Mame, all of the old ones kind of suck though. Play Mark of the Wolves instead.

>> No.2005661

>>2005284
under no circumstances should anyone play the n64 version. there is way more wrong with it than just missing features because of cart space

>> No.2005779

>>2005661

What's wrong with it? I had it as a kid and it seemed fine

>> No.2005802

>>2005508
The SNES and Genesis version of UMK3 were bugged as fuck, but hey, at least the Genesis version had like 6 more stages than the SNES one.

He said 'butchered' in the sense that the N64 version has less content than the PS1 port because cart issues IIRC.

I'm not familiar with the Saturn version but between PS1 and N64 I'd say go with the PS1 since you have more shit available. The loading issues are overkill but if you wanted to play something without any issue then you wont be asking to play MKT to begin with.

If you want to play UMK3 the way to go nowadays is the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection version. Is a flawless victory.

the graphics look the same as my saturn version

I assure they are most certainly not the same quality of the saturn.

>> No.2005991

I love how absolutely broken the various console ports of all the Mortal Kombat games are. They are completely and utterly riddled with fun, weird, and downright bizarre glitches.
