Does /vr/ like raising sims? Wonder Project J, Princess Maker and the like?

I just started Wonder Project J2 and it's adorable, the way she run to the screen to talk to you.

I've been intrigued by this game ever since Nintendo Power ran a preview for it back in the day. How easy is it to play this game without knowing moon-speak?

Practically impossible. Josette interacts with the player "directly" breaking the fourth wall and constantly asking question. You can give a positive answer, a negative answer and a natural answer but if you can't read the questions there's not much to do.

What about the SNES one? Didn't that get fan translated?

I played a wonder project game where I was supposed to raise some robot shota. I played for a bit and then he wouldn't stop saying "I hate you, anon" and it hurt surprisingly bad, so I stopped playing.

Yeah that's the first Super Famicom one.

Should I play Wonder Project 1 first or doesn't it matter?
What emulator is best suited for 2? The Wiki recommends Mupen64Plus and Project64.

I recommend you to play the first game, since there's lots of references and recurring characters, but it's not 100% necessary.

I kinda like the genre, but I feel like Im always on the edge when playing one of these games, you can try your best and still get a bad ending in some games.

The last raising sim I played was Neues, a mixture between raising sim and visual novel where a robot girl has to become human. The story is interesting and quite dark too, but getting a good ending can be a pain in the ass.

>> No.1999523

So is there any graphics plugin that displays the ending properly? I've always gotten a black screen with just text boxes for pretty much everything after the "Communication Chapter end" message.

I think it mentions the right one in the read me for the translation. Though, that info might be outdated.

Wonder Project 1. It's easier to use the mouse for the pointer/fairy but I'd like to use the other keys so that I can scold/praise and access the stats more efficiently.

>> No.2006818

>>2004278

Yes, the games is in japanese and the main problem is that it doesnt rely just on stats, you'll have to make some choices in the adventure part and those might affect the ending.

Back in the early 00's, I downloaded a crazy nude version of Princess Maker from one of those crappy Geocities sites.
Shit was weird as fuck, you basically started as a lolicon and ended up impregnating the girl in one of the endings.
The mod was surprisingly well done, though.

>> No.2008726

>>2008704
You don't need mods for nudity in PM2. Just replace the dress files with placeholders and you get the paper doll in its full glory.

press Q, R, N and F12 at the same time while you're in the game. Then click on the store thingy and there should be 2 new shops one gives you money AND sells some bad-ass stuff.

It also unlocks the "Undress".

Man, I can never get WPJ2 to emulate properly, but it looks exactly like the kind of thing I'd love.

Why don't N64 bootleg carts exist yet? It would be wonderful to put the english patch on a cart and play it on a real N64. Everdrives are way too expensive, especially since this is the only game I wouldn't be able to play otherwise.

>> No.2010405

I remember I had a freeze during the ending sequence while emulating J2 with Project64, and had to change to some other emulator just to finish the game.

Because something doesn't exist if you didn't see it? Even if they didn't you could always replace the ROMs on a Japanese cart.

Some are. This one is supposed to work on original hardware.

I guess because Princess Maker had a daughter and others copied them.
There are various life sims without them so it may also depend on how you define raising sim.
