It' a decent game, it's just that it wasn't literally "FFVII-2" so people hate it.

OK, you could argue that it's easy to break the game, but not without a guide (unless you're a savant), and lots of people bitch about the characters and plot, but none of it is bad at all.

The real issue that may turn you off is that a good 50%-75% of the gameplay is spent in menus customizing stats, setting what skills to learn, setting up characters, refining magic, playing cards and taking quizzes and such.

It's a good game with a lot to offer someone not looking for just another JRPG. It's just not what many of those people are specifically looking for.

It's a solid 8/10, and worth playing at least.

Tough Break, OP. I know it's not the same thing but you can get FF8 on Steam now.

Resurfacing shouldn't do that. It's probably disc rot.

Fuck off, ff8 was a great game

I liked it better than 7, I thought the junction system was dope and the sons were cool. Plus the progression made more sense to me

The fist disc of FF8 is great because if feels like a James Bond spy story. After that the spy aspect is dropped and, while the game is still good, its just not the same level of greatness as it was out the gate.

Cheaply-made CDs are prone to oxidation of the reflective aluminum layer. This is simple chemistry versus economics.

the disc looked way too perfect.

I would've loved to play it, its too bad I got a shit copy. ive never played FF besides 1, mystic quest (this game pissed me off, its way too easy and monotonous), and tactics. My parents were all strict when I was younger and wouldnt let me play teen games. Bummer :(
