What are some good saturn games? I picked one up awhile ago but only have like 3 games for it, virtua fighter 1, virtua racing and albert odyssey.

also get the Outrun, Space Harrier, and After Burner II Sega Ages. Best ports of the games and Arcade perfect with some great arranged tunes for Outrun and Metal Black!

virtua fighter 2 if you like virtua fighter. VF2 is one of the best looking 3d fighters for that gen and is the best 3d fighter for that gen imo. The second one blows the first one out of the water, if you do like the first one though at least get virtua fighter remix its a lot nice looking than just plain ol virtua fighter.

Lot's of weapons and rocking soundtrack, plus some of the enemies and levels are bad ass. Like that low orbital assault where you laser down super star destroyers.
I dislike how the game sometimes just drops in enemies from nowhere, though. If you are not careful / don't have everything memorized, you die too many times and too easily. Especially for bosses, which operate almost entirely on memorization of blind spots and patters, instead of skills.

The music of the game alone is worth $50. The fact that an awesome shmup is on the disc as well, that's a bonus.

Saturn has some of the backgrounds, and the "Mode 7 infinite ground" parts looking much better, Playstation version has proper transparencies for a few effects and I think the framerate is slightly better. And it has more FMVs too, and maybe an art gallery, but I don't remember the specifics.

They're some sound issues with all three games and Outrun, they changed the Ferrari into something else. They're all emulated too sadly.

Yeah that's right. The Saturn was always terrible at transparency effects, but its environments were better looking than the Playstation version.

I would add too that the Saturn controller is better suited to shmups and explosions look far better on the system. (I think it also had a better soundtrack? not sure on that one).
