I'm super interested in how far fans can take it.
Pic related, could Doom be stored on and played off of one of these bad boys?

>> No.1965298

>>1965252

That's not how it works. Theoretically, if you could interface that drive to something that could run doom, and the transfer rate is decent, then yes. But that isn't a computer on its own.

I know that, the challenge would lie in actually connecting it to hardware that could transfer Doom onto it and then read it.

why would a printer even need the power for that though? i mean whats the point a printer doesnt need to be that advanced all it does is print off paper theres no point wasting money on the extra power of that

it deals with paper, so why not.
also, part of the reason why they need such ui is to cut on training for office staffs to be able to use the damn thing properly.

Is there a specific reason Doom is so frequently used as the test subject in this kind of thing? Is it notably portable or is it just because it's a popular game?

I think it's going to become a lot more common: companies will just throw Android onto their products and just code an app for it; probably easier than making all your own shit

It's just complex enough that it's impressive to get running on things, but not intensive enough to make it impossible to port to stupid shit.

Neither can I, I'm too old for that shit. I've spent ages doing that crap when I was a kid and I've spent ages working on my mouse so it's like second nature. Going back to awful controls is just aggravating as shit. It's almost as bad as when I play lefty.
I suppose all that's left is the hipsters in the middle who try to get hipster cred that no one but hipsters cares about.
