Are there any elitists like me on /vr/ who refuse to emulate games?

I don't understand this attitude, but whatever, your loss

It's hardly elitist when real hardware is objectively inferior to perfectly configured emulation (RetroArch + KMS + CRT + fast CPU + correctly configured frame delay + interrupt based (eg. PS/2 keyboard) input).

I don't like emulating things on my PC so I modded my original Xbox, shoved a bigger hard drive in it and downloaded CoinOPs.

Now I have over 4000 games on one system ranging from Atari to Playstation. And co-op is as simple as plugging in another controller.

It's pretty sweet. If you don't fancy all the effort required in getting the bigger hard drive and modding it and then finding a download for CoinOPs you can always just buy an Xbox with all that done for you for like $60-70

Nah, I'm that way too. If I want to play a game that I don't own, I go out and buy it and expand my collection. For me, half the appreciation for retro games is collecting and having them. That tangible piece of nostalgia you can hold in your hands.

Just having a ROM file on my computer with every game ever made isn't the same.

I prefer the original over emulation, that being said I don't completely disregard emulation, and there are specific things where emulation is preferable, or even games that I'm perfectly aware I will never be able to buy at a reasonable price. Purist and elitists are just extremist and in some way just biased, how about being a sensible person for once and recognize both side's merits and flaws.
And one thing is not liking emulation, another side to that coin is not shutting up about it.
