Sup /vr/.
Do you own any cool /vr/ related collectibles? Today I found my Boulderbadge. When the Pokemon TCG game for Game Boy came out, my local Toys-R-Us held tournaments of it and there were 8 people to beat. Each one you beat got you one of these badges. I got all the way up to the 5th badge, but this is the only one I can still find. I was pretty awesome at the TCG game back in the day.
Pic related, it's the boulderbadge.
What stuff do you have, /vr/?

Probably my favorite retro vidya memorabilia would be what I'm wearing in pic related.

My (recently acquired) Swordquest: Waterworld shirt and Powerfest '94 hat

Censored face, because not related to thread and will have to wait until a "Faces of /vr/" thread shows up.

Boy did they let you get that easy

Official way was that you got a little stampbook, and whenever you play a game you get a stamp, I think it was something like 10-points for loss and 30 for victory, and more for tournament wins. It took a few hundred for each badge I think. I have them all.

Yup that's what it was like. I used to work at a gaming store. If I remember correctly the requirements got progressively greater. 8th badge needed like two pages of stamps.

Im thinking about buying some repro SNK posters, you know , like the ones for arcades.
I love the early KOF artwork.
Any idea where I could get some ?

Not /vr/ but I remember actually filling out one of those registration form things when you buy a new ps2 and it entered you in raffles and shit.
A leather PS2 branded messenger bag satchel thingie showed up at my door one day, pretty cool. I still have it.

Does anyone remember the patches Nintendo Power gave away if you made it to world 9 in SMB: Lost Levels? I got one of those patches still, mint condition. I'm not sure where it is now, so no pic, but it's around.

Oh shit, the nostalgia, I remember this shit, I went to the local gamestore for weeks to get enough stamps to win all the badges. I should still have them all somewhere, along with my old decks and folder of cards...
also, /vr/ related collectibles.... I guess I have some?
Does pic related count?

Some books from Pix'n Love. For those who don't know them, it's a French publisher specialized in retro stuff. Some books have been translated in English, like the History of Nintendo series.

Yo, OP, you mis remember how that event went down. It was one badge per month and you needed like, 10 or more wins per badge

It was even worse than that as I remember because you were only allowed to attend once a week and each badge was only available for a month so it was basically impossible to get enough stamps and the jerk ass "gym leaders" ended up taking all the cool shit and selling it online. Weren't there also promo cards as well? I just remember sperging out and making a disguise so I could go twice a week before I eventually got sick of the whole mess after I got the second or third badge. That, and my gym leader would cheat by using Japanese cards and then he'd lie about what they did, so that was annoying.

I think the coolest retro gaming merch I have is the old A Link to the Past comic (manga? tpb?) that was originally printed in Nintendo Power. Also that Nintendo Power VHS tape where Sony and Sega reps kidnap a Nintendo rep and torture a Mario doll to get him to talk about Starfox 64.

I got this ball & maze... thing. From what I read on it, it came with 3 removable cards that slid in the back, including a Zelda card and one other. It would seem I only have the Mario card now.
