What are some of the most satisfying attacks in SNES platformers?

Zero's saber always felt so good to use in X 3.

Same character, different game. In X4/X5, Zero's saber sound and animation were always fucking awesome and satisfying to use.

>>1922086
They get the hate they deserve. Shit level design, shit visual design, shit audio, cringe-worthy stories. You can try and blame it on nostalgia all you want but I didn't even get the chance to play all the X games until many, many years later in the X Collection, and even I can recognize the quality of the games jumping off a cliff between X3 and X4. The PS1 is nearly 20 years old now; time to stop playing that card. It's just as easy to try to make some assumption that people who think the PS1 Mega Man games are good have no standards because it was their first console.

But that is neither here nor there really. Zero's saber has no 'oomph' or satisfaction from blowing things up in the later games where he's playable, mostly due to weak audio effects.

What's with /vr/ lately? You literally can't post in any thread without someone replying with shitpost to your opinion, even something personal as this. If you don't like it, fine, but why bother so much in replying to someone like this?

This is a highly subjective thing, I couldn't care less about the sound effect the slash makes but the fast animation coupled with the tight controls make it extremely satisfying for me.

I never said it had to be a hugbox, all i'm saying is that he had no reason to disagree with the anon's opinion because this is something completely subjetive and personal. In this thread we're NOT here to discuss the quality of a game, the point is to share satisfying attacks in games se like. You have all the right to disagree, but express that in an unnecessary aggressive way just to start a discussion that has nothing to do with the thread is just completely retarded and it is what is killing the joy in actually exchanging words through here.

Hundreds of thousands of people played the X games, it's obvious some people liked and disliked every single aspect of them, voicing your disagreement serves no purpose unless you explain why you feel that way so we could have a discussion or if I cared about your opinion, which I don't because this is an anonymous message board.

X5 is a boring rehash of X4.

X6 is much better, but the game required a high skill level to be played. I'm talking about real skills, not memorization or another low-level "skills" that you can use in other Megaman games.

Megaman fans can't be taken serious. They can't even dash and jump at the same time.

So? The game is short. I'm not arguing about the length.

Yes it's.

I beat Megaman 8's Wily 1 in my first try.

X6 is harder.

I just beat Mega Man 8 a few hours ago, do you mean Wily's first form or the first Wily's Tower stage? I didn't have much trouble with either to be honest and I think X6 is pretty hard.

I think the classic series is pretty easy with notable exceptions being the first one and MM9, MM7's final boss is probably the hardest boss in the series though. (specially not having 4 e-tanks)

X2 and X3 are a bit harder than X1 and X6 probably the overall hardest

The Zero games are as hard as you want them to be, with all the cyber elfs and rankings.

Interesting how pure alpha channels somehow take up more space than chunks of black.

Black is simply RGB. Each channel has 8 bits dedicated to it. A block of RGB data (black) is about 24 bits without the data that PNG uses to determine how big the chunk is and where it goes.

Transparency is RGB + Alpha, so despite the RGB info being unused, that still takes up 24 of the total 32 bits for the chunk info.

I am probably explaining this in a really dumb manner but it's early and I'm tired.

This isn't pure RGB in either GIF though. The original black background has optimized alpha channels with each frame containing different amounts of chunks of black. Cutting out more color for alpha channels usually results in a smaller file size. Here's what the GIF is like without any alpha channels and just pure RGB.
