Hey guys, recently I've seen a curious urban legend about the classic SNES game super soccer. Apparently when you achieve an extremely difficult objective(s), the game will show during a match an extremely disturbing and gore scene where a gangster shoot all the players on the field. Since the original poster of this rumor is quite trustable I would like to know if anyone of you ever encountered such an event and if yes could he give us additional information about this.

here's the blog post where it all started : http://www.gameblog.fr/blogs/bonsplansjeuxvideosvgdealer/p_104728_phenomene-paranormal-ou-bug-maj-19-05-2014

If you don't understand French, i'll gladly give other details about this.

Does the Moon World in Super Mario World really exist?

>> No.1905352

No.

>> No.1905368

here's the supposed way in order to access this cutscene, in solo mode :
>win the final with every countries
>win the final several times with only one country
>win 1000 matchs and more
>win every match win at least 10 goals
>mark 10 goals with only one player during the final

afterwards the scene will pop randomly during a match.
I know it seem's retarded, but we never know, with those requirements it's pretty sure that almost nobody encountered that event if it exist.

Does he have a copy of Squidward's suicide too?

well, I downloaded the ROM and skimmed through the graphics banks in Tile Molester. I did not see any "gangster" or "player getting shot" -sprites.
never played the game so could be that i just overlooked them but i hiiighly doubt it

99.9% of these stories are bullshit but I'll be damned if they're not entertaining.

There aren't enough secrets left in the world.

Yeah that same conclusion have been reached in the blog thread, but it is still possible that they recycled parts of images and used other color palettes in order to make new sprites. Since we can't read the game source code, there's still a slight possibility for it to be true.

The simplest way still would be to contact the developpers of this games, the staff members are listed here : http://www.gamefaqs.com/snes/588754-super-soccer/credit
But there's no way to contact them (they could even be retired or even worse).

not really, you can relatively easily find the RAM addresses to which values that are written when you
>win the final with every countries
Easy, beat the final with two countries and figure out the values for the rest
>win the final several times with only one country
Win the final twice with the same country, see if a value is accumulated
>win 1000 matchs and more
Win once, see if a value is accumulated
>win every match win at least 10 goals
Win two matches with different goal amounts and cross-refercence; find "goal amount" -RAM address
>mark 10 goals with only one player during the final
Same

Once all values are found, spoof them all up to $FFFF and play

Fuck me, you'd have to be really god damn gullible and STUPID to believe something like this.

this, messing up with the RAM can lead to very interesting results compared to a simple creepypasta

not too long ago a doomfag discovered that it takes from 93mins to 3 years for a final boss script to spawn a monster despite having no spawning point.
