Let's say I'd rather not cut off parts of my N64: What are my options for bypassing region lock?

I've heard a gameshark works. Is there any other (cheeper) option?

Flash cart would be your best bet but that's definitely not a cheap option (although the potential value definitely makes it worth it imo).

I couldn't tell you how well the gameshark method works since I've never actually read into it. Are N64 game sharks expensive? I have no clue.

In any case, emulation would probably be the cheapest option. However, N64 emulation is a cruel mistress and some games just do not work well, but I'm not sure how many of those you might be interested in playing.

I don't think this post was really helpful or informative at all, so I probably just wasted your time. I think all I did was ramble.

Purchase security bit and cheap NTSC N64 sports game. Swap the backs of the carts. No maiming of video games or consoles required.

Gameshark isn't super expensive, but more than I'd like.

Just take the seat out or use a game shark.

You would have to be autistic to care about cutting out a piece of your m64 that you can't even see.
>B-but muh 64 must be pure!
The same faggots who say that MUTILATE n64 carts just so they can protect their 20 dollar game console. from an invisible issue.

just get a gamebit and take out the grey plastic thing and the shutter

I just don't like making irreversible modifications to my stuff, however minor.

>>1897478
Didn't know you could just remove that part instead of modifying it.

Any recommendations on a seller for a gamebit?

Amazon. eBay.

I did the mod last month for the very reason of playing CR. You do not need to cut anything, just unscrew a plastic tray from under the dust cover. I even managed to keep the dust cover supported with rubber bands.

Buy a gamebit on Amazon, they are like $5. Make sure you get the right size (there are 2). I do not remember which one is needed.

Or just buy both (they're not expensive), and you'll always have the one you need.
