retard reseller logic right here folks. Okay retard now let me explain, by the time you get the price you demand it's going to be so inflated it would have been like 200 dollars in 2014 anyway. I know you just want to say you sold it for 400 to stroke your precious retard ego but it don't make any difference.

No, it does. If I paid $150 - $200 and sell everything for $400 2 years later I'm making a nice profit.

Not that guy, but Earthbound's price has been rising faster than the rate of inflation. Also you got really defensive there, just get a flashcart or a repro of earthbound uncut for $30 if you really want to play it.

It's still the same game.

- Plastic Cart with Earthbound sticker
- Plugs into SNES
- Plays Earthbound

Where's the fucking damage? Videogames are not WORTH anything. Sure, people will pay a lot of money for "official" plastic, but where's the benefit? A properly made repro cart isn't going to be any less reliable than an officially made cart.

What, because it has no resale value? This supposes that videogames are worth something because other people like you believe it.

Jesus fuck, I've wasted so much of my life debating plastic with people stuck in this circular logic.

>> No.1896292

imagine if we started doing this with everything else.

Reproduction refrigerator:
Keeps food cold
Looks like a fridge
well made, is just as reliable as one from Hotpoint

WORTHLESS WORTHLESS

This is a community who thinks a gameboy with a ralph lauren logo on it is some sort of holy grail. It's a picture in the plastic.

I don't agree with games not being worth anything, but you have a point with the "official" plastic scam, which is a byproduct of collecting, the bane of video games and other electronics. No, this is not even close to collecting comics, stickers or other inanimate objects.

The resale value is artificially inflated by resellers and wrong culture spread across gullible people who want to look special.

>> No.1896329

>>1896284
>A properly made repro cart isn't going to be any less reliable than an officially made cart.

There's the problem. How many people are going to take the time and effort to properly make one?

Remember, there are people that think the tape method for batteries is just as good as proper solder.

>mfw I had no idea ff7 spiked so high in price

That game sold boatloads, how the fuck did that even happen? It's like SSBM for gamecube, there's way to many copies in existence to justify paying that much.

Earthbound isn't exactly rare either (rarer than ff7 but that's not saying much), so there's some logic there.

Smart resellers don't do this, though. Smart resellers buy for next to nothing at thrifts, garage sales, bulk buys, etc. Then they sell the games for at or just under market so it gets bought up quickly.

If anyone honestly invests in games to try and make money they're true pleb-tier and only asking to get burned by the shifting market.

Buy pre-tabbed batteries.

Remove the dead battery and its tabs, then solder the tabs of the new battery into the cart.

Soldering the old tabs onto a new battery might explode it. Not worth the risk.

Either that or install some kind of battery dock, but that's hardly worth it as a battery lasts a good 10 years.
