still haven't played MM8, though it's on the bucket list. 6 is probably my favorite

there's something very endearing about the M&M6 engine. hard to describe but it's so much goddamn fun because you can break it so many different ways

they didn't put much effort in the 8th game, I'm sure that the staff was paid a pack of cigs for the whole thing. Despite stuff like identical looking enemies (some dragons didn't even have palette swaps) and a really shitty endgame I did kind of like it though.

It has a lot of cool things and a nice variety of characters that would make a great game, had only the world been interesting.

A slight rebalancing (buff minotaurs, nerf the shit out of dragons) and a completely new setting and it might have been the best in the series.

Because it's hastily sewn together as a last minute opportunity to cash in on the M&M6 engine. NWC was in financial turmoil, and it shows - tiny areas, few interesting NPCs, poor enemy variety, poor balance. Plus I hate how this new party system was implemented.
