Nah, about 40 or so. The shelf they're on is rotatable and has four different sides you can put shit on. I found it at a thrift store about a year ago and love it.

It's horribly disorganized though, mostly because whenever I play something I'm too lazy to fit it back into place and just put it wherever.

It's a super crappy CRT and the only one I could find at the time (we just moved to a new place and I couldn't bring my 150 lb trinitron with me). I'm working on picking up a new one in the next couple days though, a smaller, and hopefully lighter, trinitron. Once I have somewhere to plug them in my cables will all be ran through 3 System Selectors which I'm going to affix to the underside of the TV stand.

Kinda sucks that Trinitrons are so heavy. There's so many people giving them out but they all expect me to carry it to my house. I got a mono tv too, but I usually have volume low anyways so I don't notice much. It's a Magnavox but it does the job. Planning on getting a stereo crt on craigslist soon, but there aren't many ads right now.

The 64 and the Xbox (which isn't actually there, I know, it's supposed to be under the 3DO but I can't figure out where it got packed at) both share the same A/V cable, so they have to be next to each other. I probably should switch it with the Dreamcast though, the stand perfectly fits everything except that damn Saturn.

Could you put the Saturn on top of the 3DO?

>> No.1861186

>>1861183
I could, but the Xbox is even bigger so it couldn't go where the Saturn is. On top of that, the Saturn is a top loading CD tray as oppose to the front loading 3DO and Xbox, so if I put it there it would be too tight a fit for the CD door to come up and let me put a game in.

Why can't there be more front loading systems? Would make this much easier.

>> No.1861203

Move the television to the left. You then have enough space to lay the PS2 down flat, put the 3do on top of it, and the NES on top of THAT. More room at the bottom.

If you don't mind it being off-center, anyway.

Does anybody have any recommendations for storing controllers and console av/power cables? My wife and I are moving out of a shitty 1-bedroom apartment into a house with a basement. We have no good way to display all of our game consoles and have them plugged in all at the same time, so right now I have all my controllers and hookups neatly placed in a laundry basket in our closet. However, it doesn't stay neat for very long and it becomes really tedious to find which cables I need when I want to play a console that isn't hooked up.

In our new place, we're planning on having a really nice display of everything in the basement, but I'd like to find a way to keep my cables and controllers tidy and organized so I can hook up consoles easily. If anyone has any ideas or examples that would be greatly appreciated.

Example: I've heard you can use discarded toilet paper tubes as a good way to hold wound-up cables. This sounds good, but I don't know a good way to make this easily-accessible. I have like 20+ consoles that have cables.

Here's my vidya nook, with the new PVM taking up the old Trinitron's spot. Ordered a Playstation SCART cable and SCART-to-CMPTR adapters for the PVM yesterday for that RGB goodness.

Storing consoles and games is tough. I got a perfect NES cart shelf at Goodwill, but it's filled up completely. The PS1/PS2 shelf works great, it's nice and shallow and makes it easy to line the games up perfect. The TV stand has very deep shelf, so it's a pain keeping the games level since there's nothing behind them. The shelf in the back left I built myself with stuff from Lowes 'cuz I couldn't find anything that worked for displaying loose carts well.

The big brown shelf mostly holds records, I collected those before getting into retro games, there's probably 700 just to the left of the shot.

Yeah, the stuff on the shelf doesn't get played with. I keep all the consoles I normally game on under the WEGA.

And I framed it because it is my favorite album, and I have listened to it so many times the record is pretty much kaput. Young criticized it later when he got together with Crazy Horse, calling it overly produced and too technical, but I think that's part of the album's charm! It's really meant to be listened to on headphones, some of the more acid-rock segments (like in "I've Been Waiting for You) are just brilliant in their technicality with sounds moving from left to right channel and back again across your brain and all over the place! And the instrumental work in "The Emperor of Wyoming" and "String Quartet from Whiskey Boot Hill" is amazing, with perfectly timed harmonies and crescendos, such a fine complement to country life. Young takes you across verdant mountains and down dark valleys as he sings of lost love and simple living, contrasted with pure instrumental mastery.

I just now tried to determine my favorite album. It can't be done. I might say it's something, but I can't justify it over at least twenty other albums. That particular box is indeed .50 and as you can see fits two rows of PAL SNES and SFC carts one on top of the other. Its dimensions are approximately 30cm D x 16cm W x 18cm H. Is there an online repository somewhere that has box art cataloged?

Im mainly interested in SNES boxes. I want to store my games a little safer and i was thinking of just making my own boxes and making them look nice. I would rather not pay $20 a box (that are probably not in good condition) just to make my games displays look nicer. I have a top feeding printer that can print up to 20" wide so i would have no trouble printing boxes i can fold up.

Before you accuse me of anything, I won't be selling any of the boxes i make if i can find the box art for the games i want.

I'm at work right now, but when I moved into my own place I ended up buying a bunch of ikea shelves to store my stuff.

Unlike most of you I don't keep my stuff hooked up as I only occasionally play them. But what I do is store them in my office inside a display shelf I made using expedit shelves and glass door inserts. This way they're mostly dust free. In my office closet I have the wires sorted and stored in those cheap plastic shoe boxes you can buy at a place like walmart or target.

My games I have on my office as well, I keep them in those universal game cases and bought a couple billy book cases.

I keep my portables in a drawer.

Realistically I want to play these games, but I just don't have time or I'm too tired to do so at the end of the day. Having them all hooked up is just a mess to clean regularly, dusting for me is a daily affair because of my extremely severe psoriasis. When I do get a chance to actually sit down, it's work the effort of unpacking and packing the game system back up instead of letting it sit there. It keeps my house looking nice, clean and makes keeping it so a minimal effort.

Another thing is I used to live with packrat grandparents. Having everything nice, clean and matching makes it easier for me to maintain and keep my place that way because I have the same sort of tendencies.
