Anyone here ever try the 3 Bleemcast games?

I'm curious about MGS on the Dreamcast.

Don't really care about Tekken 3 or Gran Turismo.

Does the dreamcast have enough buttons for MGS? Doesnt the PS1 have 2 fewer buttons.

2 MORE i mean.

>> No.1860474

If I remember correctly, you can bleem patch any PS1 game to play on dreamcast, because of some early version source code leak or some shit.

But they aren't all perfectly emulated.
I believe there is a list of ones that work well/bad.

its pretty good actually. some textures can fuck up on occasion but it actually does smooth out the pixelation to a degree. you have to dedicate an entire vmu for 1 bleemcast game though

Also, apparently, the guy that made bleem (and was later sued and put out of business by sony)
went to work for Sony to help with the PS1 Emulator for the PS2.

No it has enough. Later games used the other shoulder buttons but MGS1 only used either the top or bottom two.

it still doesn't have a select button though, so either codec and map are combined into 1 pause menu or they went the MGS:TTS route and made you press different button combinations for codec and map.

why would the ps2 need to emulate the ps1 when the ps2 has the ps1 cpu

the improvement is most noticeable on Tekken 3 and GT2.

I own all three original discs

iirc they planned on selling psone classics that would download to the ps2 hard drive. However I think only one japanese demo ever came from this. But it is this one demo that some people managed to hack the emulator recently.

Pretty crazy thst this thing even existed

It actually would have been allowed to be sold in store even if I read the wikipedia right, but the guy went bankrupt from all the lawsuits sony was throwing at them.

Can you play this with just a Bleemcast disc and an MGS disc? I heard you need a special VMU.
Just wondering, I might try it out if I can simply burn it.

>> No.1864040

>>1864038
You don't even need to use the original method anymore, I don't think.

You can just patch a pS1 game with the bleem patch, and burn it to a disc and it self boots. No need for swapping.

>> No.1864042

>>1864038
Also, yeah I think you need a dedicated VMU per Ps1 game.

VMU's are cheap as shit, so it's not that big of a deal.

>> No.1864043

>>1864040

I'll investigate then, I'm interested in how a game like MGS would play.

how does bleem compare to pc emulated?
