Can we talk about score-centric games? Where you have to chain as high as you can within the time limit. Recommend me some good ones. I'm playing the THPS N64 trilogy right now and really enjoying it. 2 a best. Haven't played the series past 3.

NiGHTS is great too. Has that same great feeling where you're trying desperately to maintain your chain when it starts getting up there.

DC for THPS1
Xbox for THPS2X
Anything besides N64 for THPS3

Probably. The N64 is rarely the best console for any cross-platform game. But I grew up with it. Definitely looking to try the other version if I come across them though.

Ignore the non-retro advice (DC counts though), for the best retro Tony Hawk experience check out the ps1 versions.

I love the n64, THPS looks better on it and runs smoother, but the butchered audio tracks ruin the experience for me. N64 has a lot going for it but soundtrack heavy games like the tony hawk series and vigilante 8 did not port well onto that system.

PS1 beats N64, but the DC versions are better than those. And 2X on Xbox is far and away the best version of 2.

For THPS3, PS1 is the worst. It was a slapped-together rush job of a "port". Get it on anything but that.

You might be right about the DC versions, I haven't played them so I'm not sure. I was only suggesting OP avoid the xbox port because its not retro, and as far as I'm aware xbox emulation is still pretty iffy.

And yeah, THPS3 is a gen 6 game with really awful gen 5 ports. Avoid the ps1 and n64 versions.

I heard there was a Tony Hawk HD collection for PS3, but it was gutted and awful. True?

The THPS games are straddling the borderline between what is and isn't retro.

Xbox is "not retro", but THPS2 is a retro game.

I would say THPS3 is not a retro game, but it is on a couple of retro consoles.

It's not even a "collection". It's a new game with a handful of levels from the first few games, but it doesn't even have some of the best ones.
