It's common sense that most video games based on movies or TV shows suck. But of course there are few games here and there that actually kick ass. What are some of the good ones?

Most games based on the Power Rangers are weird (like that Zeo racing game). But holy crap, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie for the Sega Genesis was so addicting. For starters the game works. It's a mediocre brawler, but it's playable without cheap enemies. The only bad part about the game is that it's really easy and possible to beat without losing a single life (unless you get stuck in the cave). Also "Go Green Ranger", "We need a hero" etc. are in the soundtrack, which is awesome.

I'm not a fan of the Genesis version of MMPR: The Movie (I prefer the SNES one, since it's really more of a Season 2 game anyway), but I'll give the developers of the Genesis version credit for at least giving all the Rangers different sprite instead of making everyone a palette swap of the Red Ranger.

Sounds like the Zyuranger game for the Famicom. All rangers are just palette swaps (although each one has their respective weapon). Used to play that one as a kid. That's another one of the playable licensed games. It's mediocre, but it works and it was fun.

The SNES version had all the Rangers (except White) as palette swaps too, but at least you could control their civilian counterparts in those versions.

I meant MMPR: The Movie, not the original. There were four SNES games based on the series.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Fighting Edition
Power Ranger Zeo: Battle Racers

Am I the only one that prefers Duck Tales 2 to the first one? Maybe it's nostalgia, because unlike the vast majority of people, I never really played the first one as a kid, but I did rent the second one several times, and managed to beat it. Playing them both now, I still think the second one holds up better.

It could just be, of course, that most people have never even played the second game, since it is a pretty rare game. Who knows.

Same here. I consider the 2nd one better in every single aspect, even music.
