Nintendo (NES). It's a neat little horror themed RPG. It's pretty fun and challenging. IMO it's a solid 10 because I enjoyed everything about it. Check it out if you want a good retro RPG.

By the way, my filename in>>1826212
said (NES).

I'm not the one asking for outside validation to an honest suggestion. Try to keep up, /v/diot. Most of us on /vr/ actually know a thing and can express ourselves accordingly.

>what system is this for?
NES

>Plot?
A documentary team is trapped in a haunted mansion and have to look for a way out. It's a survival horror RPG, one of the first of its kind.

>?/10 rating?
I'd give it 8/10.

>FFO?
...funds from operations?

Anyway Sweet Home is really old school, I wouldn't recommend it for someone who's into Chrono Trigger and FF7 (basically the most casual of jrpgs). Perhaps try out Live a Live for SNES, it's made up of a variety of mini scenarios (caveman, ninja, street fighter, etc) that tie up at the end. It's a great game to kill time for a couple days. 9/10.

Shoot...I found it a few months ago, I was downloading translated roms. I never heard of it before then. I loaded it up on night and was blown away. Really wish I could have played it in my childhood, how fun would that have been during sleepovers?

Pick a Ys game, you can easily emulate most of them, or buy the remakes on steam. They're pretyt much what you're looking for. Action RPG's with amazingly well done stories.

That's because there's more of an obligation/incentive to play something you pay more for rather than download in within seconds. I really don't know how the logic works, it just does.

This, I hate to admit it myself, but it's so fucking true it hurts. I hardly ever emulate anymore unless it's something I can't buy, because I know I'll lose interest and move on sooner or later, whether it be minutes or months.

It plagues me with the Mother series and others. I'm glad I played Earthbound when I was a kid, because I would never be able to finish the emulated version. This is why I've never finished Mother 1 or 3, going to buy all three and settle down for awhile soon, though.
