I hate the fact that it doesn't default to the left+B palette. None of the "color" palettes look any good.

I never had to use flash in Pokemon Red because of this.

I was wondering how the pallete color change works! I got gameyob, a gameboy emulator for the NDS and it allows to do this stuff.

Thank you /vr/! You learn shit to me even if I didn't ask for anything before.

Never change.

So, question apart...

Is out there a "suggested pallete" list for the well-know and maybe not so well-know GB games?

You know, a list with recommendations on what will be the best pallete to choose if you're playing an specific game.

>tfw you weren't even aware of the palette selection capability of the GBC until well after it became irrelevant

Not that it really mattered, I only played GBC games on my GBC anyways. An original DMG was superior for GB games.

I always preferred the black and white for most games. The color palettes are cool, but can make some of the animations look weird. For example, a green character may be stationary, while their moving arm is red. Or if you just wanna go with a theme, play Pokemon Red with the red scale palette, or Pokemon Blue with the blue scale palette.

If not for the annoying jutting out the bottom of the GBA SP, I prefer a GB Pocket for the original GB games. Great size, and the screen is amazing. The original DMG screen is too small, and I don't like the dark puke green.

Dying shame only up, up+b, and the lefts look good.

A fair chunk, if not all of those "game-specific" palettes were just one of ones on that list.
Other games didn't even have a palette assigned to them.

They're the same size, actually.
Just like a 3DS screen is the same size as a DS screen.

He said pocket, not color. GBP had a larger screen

Yeah, I think only a handful of games had set special palettes. Super Mario Land, for example.

The rest of the games just default to Up+A when you turn them on.
