Super C, Tecmo Bowl and Final Fantasy still get played at my place. It depends on the mood.

>> No.1784907

Kirby's Adventure.

>> No.1784918

Final Fantasy for nostalgia reasons.
Me and my older brother playing it when I was about 6 are fond memories.

Zelda, Zelda II, SMB 1, 2 and 3, Contra, and Punch Out all come close, again for nostalgia.

Pic related. Super Mario Bros 3 is a close second, then Tecmo bowl.

I guess it's an unorthodox choice, but it's the one I like the most.

Mine too. So much love and dedication went into that game, more than any other NES/famicom game. It's like the antithesis of what Mega Man games, and games in general, have become.

It was very enjoyable. II can't help but feel that it was a bit of a RNG fest at times, if you didn't grind too high. Regarding the final boss and a few of the mid-bosses before him.

In some ways this may be my favorite NES game too, purely due to nostalgia. When I was in preschool I was obsessed with this game even though I was terrible at it. Playing it today kinda takes me back to my childhood more than most other games.

I honestly think the combat is too hard in that game. It's very frustrating getting buttwrecked by babby-tier boomerang dudes.

I have fond memories of playing Metroid with a friend. One of us would map while the other played, until they died and we'd switch. That was really fun.

At least it was only the second level, so you got a lot of practice until you got it right. Imagine the hell if they'd saved it till the end, forcing you to restart...

The trick is to switch turtles during the level so you don't do too much damage to any one turtle. Then the next time you find a pizza, do the regenerating pizza trick to fill everyone's health up.

>> No.1789882

Can't pick a single one; that system is just way too great.

Super C, SMB3, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Crystalis, RC Pro Am, Excite Bike, Paper Boy, and Volley Ball were all house favorites. One rather unknown game we spent a considerable amount of time with was Code Name: Viper. Really solid game from Capcom and worth checking out for any NES fans looking for a different title to play.

>> No.1789991

It's crazy how good Capcom's NES games were. I wouldn't call codename viper my favorite NES game but it's definitely a solid game.

Not the best, just my favorite. There are many that are better, but this game is simple and fun and I can play it without having to be in a certain mood.

It's just a really comfy game to me. The music is happy and the dinosaurs you ride are really cute. I play this game on a casual basis, zipping through the first couple of levels before getting back to the toil of adult life.

Playing this game on a lazy Sunday with nothing better to do is like slipping into a warm cup of hot chocolate. I love it.

it seriously isn't even remotely hard though, I've never died during that stage
