By the way, to the Morning Wood guy, this is why you bank your turns. It leads to a less intense, less nauseating, and similarly thrilling ride.

Of course, there's certainly a time for unbanked turns and some coaster types lend themselves to it better (i.e. Junior). But as a general rule, unless you're just trying to pump intensity, you really should bank most turns.

Yes, I got that. I do get that they are needed at high speeds, but on the low ones it dosen't make any difference. Even in your example it didn't do that much. And I'm not really into stats-fapping, and my park is no=cash type so...

But thanks for the pic, now I can see that it does in fact make some difference.

BUT.

It is near-impossible to even lay a path down there. Do I really need to make the passage first and only then rise everything up, so what is left there can never be altered or even seen?

I almost never get to ride it on the few times I visit, because the wind is too high.

They built a massive rollercoaster that can't be ridden if the winds are too high, smack in an area that gets hit by a lot of winds. Master class thinking right there.

Remove stuff at the top, alphabetically, and items lower down magically appear. There is a hard limit to how many things can be in the miscellaneous tab.

Do you guys think it is excusable to use a trainer for more money to complete scenarios like Dragon's Cove? Since the objective is to build coasters and not maintain a stat or park rating, and it doesn't have a time limit, literally the only difference between using a trainer to spawn money and getting there by hand is the amount of time it takes. And with 20k max loan and coasters costing ~10k each, it takes a full day to complete something like this...

So what's the deal with roto drops in RCT 2?

I vaguely remember being able to build the observation towers, freefalls and roto drops in the first game around the same height and having some kind of optional settings in the operation mode of them that made them all work well at the highest possible height but in RCT 2 roto drops seem to not be able to be built past a certain height without getting like 30+ intensity rating

Are roto drops just bad in RCT 2 or am I missing something?

I've got a question, I was playing the Ayer's Rock scenario the other day and the guests were being stingy as fuck about ride costs. They'd start refusing to pay for any ride that wasn't on the brink of really good value or less.

Does anyone know what setting made this scenario this way? At first I thought it was higher park rating difficulty, but I made my own scenario and they were more than willing to be gouged on prices even with that setting checked.

It's frustrating because it's a neat park, but the guest stinginess makes it harder to turn a profit.

So I really fucking hate the layout of rides in Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 compared to the first one, mainly how different vehicle designs take up a separate slot on the ride list instead of being available under the settings menu for rides such as boat hires having like 6 entries in the water rides list with one for swan boats one for canoes and so on but also how there's no dedicated button for finances and such

Is there any mod that restores the original menus and layouts or is it just too complicated to do?

I like this suspended coaster. It's been a while since I made a good one. Plus, the whole E>N>I thing is nice. I could make it longer, but whatever.

For a suspended coaster that's pretty good. Seriously, they all suck.

I'd be willing to say they messed up the nausea calculations a little. Suspended coasters aren't this bad in real life. Of course, I've never been on one this intense, though.

That would explain why they have no banks, too. There was that one shitty swinging coaster with no banking, I think we discussed it a few months ago. Apparently, it was a maintenance nightmare, too... the trains swung to their limit at least twice.

>> No.1802636

>>1802629
I remember watching the video for that in horror. I'm surprised trains didn't straight-up disconnect from the fucking rail with how hard they hit the sides.

Yep. "Crazy piece of shit" is about right. It audibly hits the swing limit twice in the ride, and gets near 90 degrees many times. Capticha fucking related.

Seriously, what the hell is it with Maverick's lines? I used to go to Cedar Pont every year for a few years after it opened, and every time it was at least a one hour wait, no matter how slow the park was that day. Even TTD never had lines as bad as Maverick.

Fun fact: when Arrow went bankrupt (mainly because of the X fiasco), S&S bought many of the company's assets and a large number of Arrow's employees went with them. So the reason that S&S makes some funky coasters is that they have a lot of Arrow's old staff.

Another fun fact is that Alan Schilke started off with Arrow, was responsible for X, moved to S&S, and is now designing the crazy hybrid wooden coasters for RMC.
