I still play through it with a buddy of mine every year. Good times.

It's the pioneer for a lot of great things, such as procedurally generated endless levels, dynamic split-screen, falling between levels, and the present system which constantly randomizes so you never know what you're going to get when you open them up.

The humor's dated, but still amusing. The visual are colorful and crisp and hold up really well, and the music is simple but catchy.

It's just...fun. But it does get boring without a friend for some couch co-op.
