It's not like she was in a whole of games at that point. 1 didn't exactly do wonders for fleshing out any of its characters but 3 did alright.

I think I tried 3 RE1 PC CDs and all had a bug with Jill's scenario from the start.
From what I've seen, RE3's Jill was an improvement over RE1's. I don't like the ingenue part for her, Rebecca was fit for that role. I don't have the resources to run REmake.
Better question would be why would they bother changing her personality and appearance, I heard that different people worked on her throughout the series.

Capcom forces different people to work on THAT franchise with THOSE characters. So, those people have to take into considertation the previous entries but are forced to use this or that character...
As a result, each of the director working on one of the game wants to add his own "ARTISTIC SEED" to the characters and story; which as a result completely changes the characters and the story every time; ending up in a pure mess of a "series".

Every Resident Evil not directly made by Mikami is an official fanfiction (even those in which Mikami is "executive producer"; we all know what "executive producer" means).
I.E: taking Code Veronica as a genuine sequel to RE1 is like seriously considering From Dusk Till Dawn 2 as a genuine sequel to Tarantino's masterpiece.

Nobody would ever consider From Dusk Till Dawn 2 seriously part of a franchise, a sequel to 1 ; but it's a concept hard to understand for video game players who consider franchises, brand/company loyalty, above the original true artistic creator (Indeed, you guys are talking about "Capcom's Resident Evil"; nobody would say that for a movie....)

I hope I've made my point clear. The change of personality of a character among a single video game franchise is only the visible surface of the issue.

I was always upset that Sparkster didn't get his own cartoon series or something. If you read the manual you'd see the setting was pretty detailed. It'd lend itself pretty naturally to a cartoon series.

Actually, Dustloop didn't exist in GG1 or GGX because nobody had air Dusts at that time. And DL has been his staple combo in every iteration of XX except Accent Core. Thanks for confirming that you know nothing about Guilty Gear so I don't have to take you seriously though, captain butthurt.
