The Last Blade is like the freaking Virtua Fighter of 2D games.

Whenever it's brought up it's regarded as a sublime example of 2D fighting and something everyone should experience. Then I show up to FGC meetups, set up the game, and no one even knows what the fuck it is, let alone want to play it.

Personally I don't think it's a FANTASTIC 2D fighter but for all the acclaim it gets I'm really shocked at how few people IRL actually know it exists.

I've seen Mikado tournaments held for it so the Japanese seem to be aware of its presence.

The Last Blade 2 is a pretty good weapon-based fighting game. The roster is a bit unbalanced and there's a few cheap tricks to win fights with; but, are you really going to call it a Kusoge?

I don't care much for fighting games but I find the Last Blade's characters quite likable for some reason.

Now, I don't how these people never heard about Last Blade, IT IS very well known. If you were talking about Matrimelee maybe I could agree. Not many people care about this one.
