I've been playing Bonk 2 recently and it looks and plays great.
I will play just about anything but since the TG-16 is well known for its shmups i suppose that is a good place to start.

It's because in the US it was poorly marketed and sold miserably. Only 90 some odd games were released here for it. If you didn't live near a major city or didn't read specific magazines it might as well had not existed. In Japan over 700 games came out for it, making it almost as popular as the Mega Drive and Famicom.
