There was an ad for [game I can't remember, something on the Saturn] that was a full body shot of a girl frowning with a joypad in her hands and the quote "I don't mind if my boyfriend plays with himself at night" or something to that effect and a picture of said game on the bottom. I didn't get that for years. Can't seem to find a scan of it so here's something pretty.

>In 2050, they're still playing it.

If I may, a request: a (two-page?) line-drawn ad for Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness. May have said something like, "Deliver us from evil." I probably saw it in EGM or GamePro.

I wouldn't call Dragon Strike a video game, though. It's a simplified version of tabletop RPG that comes with an introductionary video on how to play (presented as a wonderfully cheesy and stupid fantasy movie), probably included as a marketing gimmic. Now, VHS games were a thing in the 80s and 90s; they were board games with a VHS tape that would be played while playing the game and affect the gameplay by giving instructions and such for the players. I wonder if those would count as video games? You got a game and a videotape you have to play to play it, so I think technically it is a video game, even if it isn't what you usually think when you hear the word...

I had one of these, It was called Nightmare and it sat in my mother's closet for years. I was always interested in it but never got to play. By the time I worked up enough friends to play it, she had sold it. I remember being really upset about this.

I like how back in the days they had to use lots of action packed images like this to describe video games because back in the days using your imagination was part of the game.

That all goes down in the intro animation, which was also released as a playless demo.

OTOH, the back cover of the game box calls it a "surprise introduction" so... so much for that surprise.
