Obscure, but decent puzzle games? I nominate pic related. Great little title to have portable on the PSP.

Little Magic for SFC isn't that obscure, but it's pretty great. Very addicting bubble mechanic and peacefully melancholic music.

I second this game, also known as Cameltry in Japan.
It's great, truly addictive, I completed it 100%, I think there are more than 100 stages.

I also reccommend Baku Baku (or Baku Baku Animal), it's a nice puzzle by Sega where you have to match the animals with their foods, fairly challenging.

I'd recommend the SNES version because it lets you see the entire map at once, which is a huge deal for a puzzle game like this. The puzzles seem to be identical to the GBC version.

The SNES versions have some crash bugs, though. But there's a password for all 100 stages, so I guess it's not a big deal.

Weird thing is that despite the retro boom, Intelligent Qube is one of the only games I can think of that has actually gone dramatically -down- in value in the last few years. A decade ago it used to command $100+ complete and a lot of people just ended up importing the Japanese version. At the time it was one of the most expensive games on the system, kind of a holy grail next to Final Bout before it got reprinted. Thing is that IQ never got reprinted but now you'd be lucky to get more than $30 for it. No idea why. You'd think it'd have stayed as expensive or even went up due to word of mouth on the internet and Youtube especially.

Not that that's a bad thing, but I wish more games would have that same fate.

It's not yet up on Project EGG, which is bizarre, the game seems like a perfect fit for that site. They need to contact the guys behind Bit2 and get that game published online, preferably with a basic translation so Westerners could buy and play from the launcher.

Sailor Moon SuperS: Fuwa Fuwa Panic.

I kid you not this is all I played for a most part of 4 days. It was addictive as soon as I picked it up. It's actually a really polished and decent puzzle game and the AI is very well made. It's a shame it's only in Japanese but you can still play through all of it and complete it all.

Definitely one of the better console puzzle games I've ever played from that time period.
