I just can't get into Pat the NES punk, when he does review a game he tends to go really in depth and I appreciate that but it's the other shit I can't stand. I don't need some painfully bad sitcom type situation to introduce your review, just review the damn game.

AVGN just isn't that good anymore but I still give him the benefit of the doubt due to the vastness of his content. There was a time when he was really great though.

Neither one of these guys can hold a candle to game sack though.

Pat is an ACTUAL fan of retro games and respects them, he's said repeatedly he is better behind the camera than in front. He's a great editor, writer and director.

I dunno, I was introduced to gamesack a few months back through /vr/ and I thought they were annoying at first.

The reason I keep watching them is because they don't have cringeworthy skits and because they do more than talk about popular games. It's helped me discover quite a few games I wouldn't have otherwise known about, so I can put up with their sometimes bad and stilted dialogue.

most youtubers are just awful or cringe worthy. that new AVGN episode is bad didn't like it really more of marketing to Pat and his movie which looks bad. Pat has good podcast but that's about it. all their group of friends are god awful. CGR (especially his 1999-2000 season and 2008-2012 episodes are very well), Game Sack (Got a saturn because of them), i like Vintagevideogeekgamer though his voice is annoying its ok, and Crazyvideogammer. gamehunter is cool i remember he posted some tips to garage sale buying and flea markets.

It was super shit. You can actually see James laughing during some of the shots like the Ikari Warriors with pretty much is just a reminder to all AVGN fans that AVGN is dead as a stand-alone show and we're all still only watching to chase that episode 20-to-90-or-so high.

Also Pat is just a faggot, and James' scripted dialogue between two human characters blows hot monkey dick.
He should ditch the HD camera and go back to whatever his old 360p setup was, I swear he's changed his entire style since he moved to HD. The shots and angles are more ambitious and not in a good way, there's too many close ups of James while he's talking, and generally this new layer of polish is so thick you can't even see what the show originially was.

I have low expectations for his movie, though it seems that it'll be a success just from looking at all the sold out bookings. I'm genuinely happy for him that it has sold so many tickets, I really like James, but when his movie has a token black guy and gamer gurl you can't really expect much more than a shitload of fuck.

I watch his podcast. I love his podcast. He's great when he's just talking without a script or a character he's being.

That being said, I do enjoy a few reviews he did. I love the one about Flintstones: Surprise at Dinosaur Peak just because he starts talking about crooked resellers at the end. He gets out of a character because he starts talking about something he's really passionate about. That's what he should stick to.

Let me play Doubles Advocate here. The beginning sequence where Bert and Ernie 'address the crowd' would be compromised for the home video release, since this would be seen by even fewer people, and even fewer people who would wear a cardigan casually. It would work perfectly in a movie theater, however.

Secondly, I do find it odd that he has a poster and a photograph of Tiger Woods, not to mention they look identical. Considering the time the video was made, a reference to the Tiger Woods incident (how a random car crash led to him fucking behind his wife's back) wouldn't be out of place.

The Muppet characters (aside from Big Bird) are given very few seconds of full body screenshots, to compromise for how awkward and uncanny the legs are animated. Likewise, the plot of the movie is kinda dumb, like really dumb. The whole reason the movie even happens is because Zoey grabbed Elmo's blanket and wouldn't give it back to him, and then it ripped in half due to them arguing.

A movie with musical numbers one after another is just grating, whether it's for kids or adults. Kids don't care about musical numbers, they just want to see Elmo and how he is going to find his blanket. And as he said, not many kids would have the attention span to watch this movie without Bert and Ernie cutting in to explain the situation to break up the monotony.

Elmo is a legit annoying character. I cannot stand how he speaks in third person, I cannot stand children, and I cannot stand how he looks. The "ultimate challenge" forcing the entire audience to blow raspberries isn't exactly smart. Kids aren't smart to begin with, so if they can imitate something they see on TV, they will do it.

That said, this review was awful. It's so awful, it's actually kinda funny in a post-4chan meta-ironic sorta way.

Seriously though, Bugs Bunny and ROB were just full of boring live-action gags with barely any gameplay / criticism. Roger Rabbit was one of the better early episodes while Master Chu and Wally Bear were so bad even the Nerd himself said so in one of the "Revisited" episodes. Also, most of the hardware episodes were equally great, but why such difference in tiers (eg. Power Glove vs. Virtual Boy)?
Finally, I can't think any other reason to put AVGN games in the worst tier than "hurr durr I can't accept advertising". Can you really say it was as bad as Toxic Crusaders with a straight face?

About the only thing I agree is the "Forgettable Tier" and even there Schwarzenegger and Rocky feel out of place.

It's going to be a b-movie, we all should have known this from the get go.

I've seen some pretty terrible b-movies and this seems pretty alright and enjoyable.

However what I really don't like is that James opted for having a token black friend and a token girl gamer. Most likely the movie won't turn out 100% as good as it could have been.
