I never played the sequel and never will, but I really don't see what the problem is with Mona Marshall. She's a good actress and Musashi's goofy dialogue works for her.

It just took me a while to not hear Izzy's voice when I first played it as a kid.

I dunno man.. Your sword is tiny as fuck and your hitbox feels small as shit. The steam knight at the beginning was also a massive pain in the ass because I have like zero opportunities to hit him. I was just checking to see if the disc works and I usually just play until I die but man.. I was not impressed.

Makes zero difference. If I popped it in and used a controller I'd probably have found it slightly more appealing, but thats marginal. I actually had more fun fucking around with the fight stick then the game so far.

I tried it for the first time last year, after havin read much praise here and on /v/.
I found it rather poor, and quit after the second level. Maybe i played it way to late, as the simplicity of almost everything (except for level variety) reminded me more of dos games.
I remember seeing a musashi 2 video back in the day, and thought it looked fun. I always wondered why it got bashed ao much (even by the reviewers) as the only complaints i ever read were "ridiculous scarf, too much anime style, ridiculous scarf, not as good as musashi 1 and the scarf looks ridiculous"

Thats super subjective and to me it was pretty fucking bad. I don't nostalgia for it though.
