Let's have a thread for oldschool horror-mystery adventure games. I just started to play Realms of the Haunting and god damn I'm loving it! The graphics, the sounds, the full motion videos, the awesomely cheesy mid 90s vibes. I got it from some indie game bundle and I had no idea what it was about.

Another game with similar atmosphere is The Legacy, which is also for MsDOS.

I will never forget my first playthrough where I immediately fell into some transdimensional portal and was instakilled by some shambling gooey beast.

I have no clue how to play that game right.

Realms of the Haunting isn't a very good FPS or a very good adventure game, but it's a damn atmospheric and uncommon 50/50 hybrid. There's a section late in the game that has some very annoying puzzles, though, so be warned. I mean I think the game has like 5 goddamn mazes, honest-to-god actual labyrinth-style mazes, even if some are small and you get maps for most of the others.

I fired it once on getting it to see if it recharged... then saved it for the very end. Glad I did.
