Huh. In retrospect, I really thought that the Playstation was going to dominate that decade for me. I was surprised to discover that a lot of my favorite games that I always associated with the 90's were actually from the late 80's or early 2000's. Go figure.

>> No.1733283

>>1733130
I'LL tell you about it. It was the best RPG made for the NES. Zelda and Final Fantasy get all the glory because they were first, and back then that mattered a ton since a game lasted you for a while.

This game had a 16bit story, fluid graphics, tight control, and combat that demanded you master it as you explore in real time.

The only knock on the game is the charge mechanic for shooting. Unlike Link, who had to have full health, you can fire anytime but you charge your shots. Some modern players dislike the wait and feel it's artificial difficulty. In my opinion, it adds a deeper element of tactics and strategy to the game.

Come for the beautiful semi-open world, stay for the feels and the epicness.

I have never recommended Crystalis to someone and had them tell me it was bad.

In terms of pure quality, no decade can compare.

Honestly, it seems that more risk and experimentation was abound during the 1990s that helped games just find itself.

Yeah there are some great games out now but the 90s had this charm. Example, when X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Super Smash 64 or Match of the millennium first came out. You was like, "HOLY SHIT!"

I personally feel a lot of that feeling left.
