Is there a retro game more speedrun than Super Mario 64? It's like the act of speedrunning this game has been made into a sport all in its own.

Ocarina of Time probably.

Super Metroid seems like an obvious choice.
it's as if the game has two modes but you're not told of either

Super Metroid duh

$anic

Super Metroid is the gold standard.

Basically because the game is so horribly buggy that people "speedrun" using its many horrible glitches to "win."

I hate speedruns that use ANY exploits and bugs in games. If you're going to fucking speedrun a game, be a fucking man and play the game as intended, just faster.

But some glitches are so much fun they feel like they're a part of the game.

>>1707763
yeah
i wonder how many glitches the devs were aware of

There are so many glitches and exploitable bad level designs in that game. It's like the sky's the limit with which way you want to do it.

The problem with that philosophy is that every rule not imposed by the game is arbitrary.
