>PS1: Experimental save state support(refer to the PSX module documentation for details on how to enable the support which is disabled by default).

For non-arcade type games, makes it alot better. RPGs especially

Hell yeah motherfucker.

Play a game how it was designed, deal with the saves you get (or lack thereof) saving states is cheating

"High accuracy" means now it can have warbly textures that are totally accurate to the PSX

Stop liking what I don't like!!

I beat kid icarus blind with save states in one day. Suck my dick.

You're acting like that's some big accomplishment. Get the fuck out faggot.

High accuracy means it runs games better than inaccurate emulators, it has very few instances of glitching currently. (Entire list of known issues: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/libretro/mednafen-psx-libretro/master/mednafen/psx/notes/PSX-TODO))

It also has very accurate SPU emulation unmatched by any existing SPU plugin.

I'm not going to argue that savestates don't get abused, but it is nice esp on psx to skip the long loading and stop anytime you like

Wow who gives a shit. Let me know when Mednaderp has anywhere near the amount of features a dedicated emulator has.

>> No.1705051

But will it fix the Resident Evil 1 option menu bug?

Like what? How many "dedicated" emulators have the accuracy of Mednafen PSX?

>save states

No, man, just no. Saving checkpoints were not just something to deal with in that time. They were actually part of the strategy. You had to think the way you played and how much you played in order to get to the next save point in as best shape as possible. It really takes away that challenging part of the game. Reaching the save point was an actual achievement, a breathing room where you could either decide to venture in the next chapter or be done with it for the session. In a way save points gave some ordered rhythm and pace to the game.

Spoken like a true NEET.
When you'll have a schedule in your life you'll realize why throwing away 1 hour of advancements in a JRPG due to no savepoint because "muh game design" is shit.

>> No.1705247

I played Mega Man X4 on it and it seemed like a really good emulator, especially the sound part.
Better than ePSXe that's for sure considering that one still likes to crash randomly.

Lighten up. It's there for the babbies who DON'T know how to play like that.

>> No.1706018

>>1705238
Yeah man. Not being able to shut the game down and resume it later when I have to leave in real life or suddenly get interrupted is totally part of the strategy.
