Does anyone have any good suggestions for good obscure NES games?

I tried playing that the other day and gave up when they brought in isometric platforming. Why? Why would they do that?

Some of these games have become more popular than they used to be thanks to the internet but I would still consider them obscure:

Bucky O Hare
Burai Fighter
Kabuki Quantum Fighter
Metal Storm
Power Blade 1 and 2
Shatterhand
Vice Project Doom

Why did they call these things "control decks", what does it even mean?

Because 'console' hadn't become vernacular yet.
