What's your favorite sonic boss battle?
Mine in Egg Viper from sonic adventure.
There was anithing in that boss fight, except you ,eggman and some platform that the boss can destroy, making quite challenging and making feel you in trouble and without help... and the music is awsome

>> No.1675334

I really like mecha sonic + robo egg on Sonic 2, but probably the actual best boss is Doomsday Zone in S3&K.

As for non-standard bosses, the Metal Sonic race on Sonic CD.

So pointless and pathetic it's awesome.

Also the Death Egg Robo or w/e at the end of Sonic 2. One mistake means death, there's nothing between you two. Just you vs. Giant Murder Robo, no rings, isolated space station, final destination. Little screams "final showdown" as much as this.

Egg Emperor MK.III[Sonic 3 final boss]

Are you talking about E101 mkII?

That's one of my favorites.

Kind of easy, but I love the music and mkII was a pretty cool boss.

Doomsday zone.
I love that you must be Super Sonic, and you have to keep collecting rings to stay alive.
Also the fact that the boss itself is divided into three parts: the search, the battle, and the chase, making it more immersive.
The music is one of the most badass tunes in Sonic history.

This is from the times when the reward for completing a game at 100% was an awesome new final boss instead of an item that alters the gameplay or something like that.

Every Super Sonic final boss after Sonic 3K was a failure trying to imitate this.

One of, if not the only one moment you really have to teamwork with Tails to beat Robotnik. It get's even better on 2p mode, I wish we had some more battles like that.

The bad thing about that fight is the boost mode, (pushing the ABC buttons makes you go faster) making the fight easier than it should.

This one. Is better set than the S&K final fights (the launching scene, the bosses and day/night transition, the Death Egg crashing).
Sonic 3 Complete makes it even better adding the cut big arm fight and the intro from the standalone S&K .

From the 3D games, probably E-101mkII closely followed by Egg Viper. For 2D probably Doomsday Zone just because of how cool it is.

Pros: One of the most action-packed scenes from the game.
Cons: Tactical suicide boss.

oh my god no one ever noticed tje boost. Your literally the first person I've seen admit they knew about it

You're supposed to body slam missiles back into Robotnik but back then I didn't know that and just faked them out

Egg Viper gave me so much fucking trouble when I was 12, ittook me about a month to beat the whole game and at least 4 days of that was the egg viper. About a decade later I beat the game in a week and got Egg Viper on the first try. I was so disappointed it wasn't as challenging as I remembered.

My favorite is probably Hammer Eggman from Aquatic Ruin Zone in Sonic 2, I still sometimes lose to him, but when I make it through without getting hit and never falling off the totems I feel like a god

>> No.1676598

>>1676203
when jumping from the totem, if you hold the jump button the whole time, you can reach robotnick even when he's on the far side of the screen and you'll have enough bounce to land back on the totem you started on.

You'll never loose to him again

>> No.1676732

>>1676598
The issue with me is I get anxious and jump on him too close, so the bounce isn't enough to carry me over.

>> No.1677448

I'd say it had the right amount of difficulty. It really comes in handy in the stage of the battle.

>>1676115

Seriously? I knew it. I figured it out on my own, and I was one of those that got stuck at the red barrel for years.
