There are actually some pretty clever "meta" puzzles that you'd never figure out just by playing the game itself.

Avoid monsters and hazards.
Collect chips to open socket.
Chip can't swim without flippers, can't walk in fire without fire boots, can't skate without ice skates, and can't resist force floors without force boots.
Colored keys open same-color doors. Keys break after use except green ones.
Spy steals items.
Teleporters might go different ways depending on which way you walk into them.
Blocks turn to dirt when pushed into water. Walk onto dirt to turn it into floor.
Dirt and gravel stop monsters.
There might be more hazards between socket and exit.

Trust me, you'll get a feel after about ten levels. Then you'll pull out your hair in the first fifty.

If you fail repeatedly you might be able to skip the level...

The worst levels are block-pushing puzzles like Cityblock.

No enemies, no hazards except lots of water and blocks. No time limit. You just spend half an hour pushing blocks around, and having to restart the level if you make one wrong move.

I wish Chip's Challenge at least had some form of quicksave for those levels.
