Download a torrent of all NES games and just throw it on an sd card.


After that, find a few good roms. Give us a feel for what games you loved. Megaman style games? shoot 'em ups? Mario? Zelda? etc.

What kind of game do you want to play.

As for ROM hacks: Zelda Outlands is a very well done hack of Zelda1. The color palette could have been less eye-raping, but it's very difficult in a good way.

I've been into some multicarts lately and there's some obscure (to the US) but good games in there. I like Formation Z a lot and of course the brutal Tower of Druage. Some others that are rare but more commonly recommended are Secret Ties, Mr Gimmick and Little Samson. You should also check out Bio-Force Ape a lost game that's pretty unbelievable to run on a Famicom.

I have an n8 everdrive. I have not tested a majority of the games available for the NES, but I could test something in particular for you.

Games I know do not work
1) Some romhacks, probably they are shit
2) Mr. Gimmick, the game incompatible with the US NES, has some visual glitches and the audio sounds wrong
3) Everything else I've tried works great

Mine was $115 (with cover) off of retrogate.

I estimated how much I would be spending in order to have enough games for it to be cost effective, and at this point, the everdrive was really cheap in comparison.

I really wanted to play Gun Nac, for example, and good luck finding that for less than $60.

Oh, also, the base price is ~$105 USD. You definitely want it with a case already on it. I researched options quite a bit when I bought mine (about 7 months ago).

Again, it was really damn expensive, but I made it a birthday gift after a moratorium on retro purchases for a while. After Gun Nac + Zelda Outlands at one of the romhack stores, it was already cost neutral to me.

7 files total

1 - Plays but with weird horizontal lines every so often. Like when you have a bad connection and need to blow on the cartridge
2 - Same but now in English
3 & 4 - Completely freezes the everdrive. Restart to recover
5 - Works flawlessly (stopped there)

I just tried Gun-Nac and it's awesome! Is there any link between Gun-Nac and Abadox? They have almost identical power-ups and sound effects, it's uncanny.

I've tried a bunch of these recommendations and will get to all of them, thanks all.

Heh. Just checked this thread as I was going to sleep. Yeah, it's really paid for itself. I really don't like using emulators, so this everdrive is a really bridge that lets me play on the NES. I've actually gotten to the point where I won't bother switching it out for a game I already have. I'll just play the rom of it since I have the NES connectors working just right.

I already had Powerblade 2 (and every US game) on the card

It works. It's a bit like one of the ninja turtles music/SE/playstyle
