For once I actually agree with someone using this retarded newfag tier meme.

Anyway people at Tasvideos are hypocrites especially as far as their SNES movies are concerned, they actually reject TASses made on Snes9x and ZSNES for not being accurate enough nowadays and yet they have accepted and still have their Star Fox movie that is very inaccurately emulated up. To add to this they have console verified runs made on those emulators that aren't "accurate enough" and yet reject runs made on them.

Whole videos with players walking through walls and no gameplay at all. "If you press this button the credits scroll, so that's the same as beating the game." TAS are garbage. I'd like to see people play games with actual skill. Speed runs used to be that way when you had people like Redscarlet running Super Metroid, but then with Speedemos archive it devolved into more bugging through walls bullshit.

Then there are ones based on bullshit luck like the diablo 2 runs. If I can play through a game several times over in the time it takes you to reset and compile together a run, then it's shit.

Zsnes came out a good 10 years before Bsnes. 15 years ago it played all but a handful of games that had custom chips inside them.

There's different kinds of speedruns brah. Ones that include no glitches.

That are usually boring.
Although I find speedrun categories hilarious.

I know this is /srg/ bait but I seriously think it should be
>any%
>100%

And if for whatever reason 100% is the fastest way to beat the game, then it should be considered the only category.

None of this bullshit like with OoT that has a million categories and sub categories.

This isn't news, we all know ZSNES is horribly inaccurate.

This is the defense people usually offer:

>It can play all the popular SNES games almost perfectly! So what if there are inaccuracies in some shitty Japan-only card game I never would have played anyway?

That's a terrible excuse. Emulator devs shouldn't play favorites.

I think there should be four:

>any% glitch-free
>100% glitch-free
>any% glitch
>100% glitch

Unless the game is such a poorly designed piece of shit that no one can even agree on what is and isn't a glitch, I'd say those are pretty reasonable categories.

It's stubborn nerds not wanting to move on and not wanting to change. Ignore them.

the issue with any% and 100% is you can end up with 2 extremes like OOT where any% is awful and 100% is like 5 hours long

Go ahead, no ones stopping you. Honestly, do you people have to come in and shit on every thread that even offhandedly mentions TAS? Please go back to /v/ with that attitude. .

Diablo II is just a poor type of game to speedrun due to so much of it involving luck.

Might be neat to see the 1.42 results 1.51 was a serious downgrade.
