/vr/, can you recommend me any good sidescrolling action-RPG's? Turn based RPG's have just become too slow to keep me entertained.

I've heard Ys III is much like what I'm looking for on paper, but was stupid hard.

Valkyrie Profile on PS1 could be what you're looking for. It's (kind of) turn based, but it's quick. Also killer OST, I really recommend it.

Pratically the entire Ys series. Avoid retro-III, it's a side scroller, jump for the PSP version. Besides that you really can't go wrong.
