Pic not related. BASS is overrated as fuck, cool setting and art but lame puzzles, interface, and voice acting.

>> No.1618932

The first two Broken Swords (the first gets the most discussion but I kind of think the second is superior).
Sanitarium (it's on the easy side but the atmosphere rules)
Full Throttle
The Dig

Also, Septerra Core, while primarily an RPG, is like thirty percent point-and-click adventure (and fairly puzzling at that).

Sierra made some great games:

Space Quest: imaginative Sci Fi series with a great sense of humor. I only played a couple but 6 stands out. Your character is a downtrodden space janitor... yeah.

King's Quest: medieval quests with good art direction. 6 stands out. Less humor and a bit more frightening and tense than SQ. The catacombs scared the piss out of my child self.

Woodruff and the Schnibble: I rarely see anything about this game but it is funny and totally fantastical. Sends up religion and business in a futuristic dystopian city that is well designed.

Torin's Passage: very colorful adventure through the 5 layers of a planet, where each layer is a totally different world. Great puzzles, art, and humor. Example: in the lava world, a segment requires you to jump quickly on platforms over the lava in a specific order. Fail and you sink in. While going under, the character does the Terminator 2 thumbs up like Arnie. Good gag.

Ripley's Believe It or Not!: The Riddle of Master Lu. One of the best games I've ever played. Must have for fans of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.

I massively enjoyed The Dig, but I did need a faq for 3 of the puzzles, which is a lot.

Tex Murphy 3 - 6 are great, the second one is ok as well if a bit unremarkable. The first one is more flight sim than adventure game
