Any updates on the Garage translation project?

>> No.1585640

For the lazy:

-------------------

Alternate Setup Guide:
-Download the following; it's a VirtualBox .vdi containing both Windows XP SP1 (activated) and the game itself: https://www.mediafire.com/?1pd6xng2545zgmy
-Install VirtualBox (https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads).).
-Create a new virtual machine, name it as you like (I just called mine "Garage").
-Change the type to Windows XP (32 bit), then click next.
-Set the RAM to 64MB, click next.
-Tick 'use an existing virtual hard drive file' and select GARAGEXP.vdi, as previously downloaded, then click create.
-Within VirtualBox (and with the newly added Garage VM highlighted), click settings.
-Go to the display tab; set the video memory to 1MB then click OK.
-Start the Garage VM; Windows XP should now launch in a 640x480 window (the maximum display resolution for the game).
-Double click the Garage desktop shortcut; it should now play perfectly with no errors whatsoever.

Cool, some people were reporting issues before with Windows 7.

Now that there is a thread about Garage...

Any japanese here that would resume the story of the game?
I saw the walkthrought, but I barely understood anything...

I followed this step by step but it will blue screen really quickly and then go to the press F12 to select boot device screen and then quickly go back to starting up XP again.

What version of Windows are you using?

>> No.1587754

>>1587752
7 64 bit.

Weird... Try upping the RAM in VB

>> No.1587781

Still happens after increasing to 512. Here is the process just to give complete details.

>Start the VM up
>Goes to Select Boot Device screen
>Then goes to the screen when you start Windows up after it crashes
>Hit any of the options to start it up
>Shows the standard Windows XP booting screen
>Then goes to blue screen for like a split second
>Then back to select boot device screen continuing the loop

Oh well someone said it works fine in Windows 7 without a VM so I guess it's not a big deal if I can't get this working.

Yeah, you just gotta change a few things (primarily, set the Language for Non-Unicode Programs to Japanese).

Yeah sorry >>1585669 here I should have made it clearer that I have language in Windows set to Japanese. Also the game starts as soon as you load the ISO.

I'm not Japanese, but my Japanese is around JLPT N3 and I'm willing to give it a shot. Where do I look?
