Honestly I wish the Pokemon Battle Coins thing took off as well as the cards. I personally found it to be easier to learn while being much more fun. You just spin a coin and do whatever that part of the coin said. Worst case you gotta check a sheet of paper to prove to your friends that sleep work like this or burn work like that.

I have a feeling it had great potential for a simple tabletop game. If only I knew what the fuck happened to my coins. Even if I had no one to battle/trade with they were still fun to collect. I recall they were actual metal coins too which was something I like about them.

Princess Toadstool was the best, and Yoshi was a mindfuck because these came out long before the days of Jones Soda/easily obtainable "odd" flavors.

They were all super refreshing though because they were incredibly carbonated. They were almost like a sparkling soda with the amount of bubbles they would put off, and the flavorings weren't overly syrupy-sweet.

I got to try each one, but only twice. The only place we could find them to purchase them was K-Mart, and they were only sold in something odd like four packs. Having two brothers ment we had to split them up evenly, so we would get a can of each flavor while my dad would drink the fourth just so we couldn't fight over it.

Tracking them down was our obsession after spotting them in Nintendo Power, but they didn't stick around long enough to get more than just a taste of them. Which was a damn shame because they were amazing.
