SNES game recommendations

Hello /vr/. Recently I was helping my mom sort through our storage shed a few days ago and I found my old super ninteno and games I had from when I was a kid. I ended up taking it home because mom wanted to throw it out and I was feeling nostalgic. So I've been playing my snes for the past few days and I've been enjoying it a lot. The only problem is I didn't have many games growing up so my collection is small.

What are some good games to buy for the SNES? I know the staple games like the first party games are good to buy like the mario, zelda, metroid and donkey kong games. But what are some other great games to play that I probably missed during my childhood?

Here's a list of games I have.

On a side note, is the snes everdrive worth the money? Any help would be appreciated.

It's pretty okay I guess. You'll save a lot of money buying an Everdrive if you just want to play the games.

Keep in mind not all games will run. Big ones like Mario RPG, Megaman X2 and X3 don't work on it. The second post on this page has a list of games that won't work.

Well it looks like the only games I'd want to buy that it can't play are the Kirby games, star fox and yoshi island. So far it looks like it could be a good investment.

I know I'm late to the party for buying snes games for cheap so I'm just in this to play the games not fill an entire shelf with them at the moment. Thanks for the link.

I skimmed through that link real quick and I noticed there were a lot of Japanese games on there. Does anybody know if I buy a snes everdrive would it be able to play games not made in the US? I'm not sure if it has a region lock or not.

I don't have an everdrive but as I recall, the only thing stopping people from playing Japanese SFC games on their SNES were those tabs inside the control deck, so I'm pretty sure you're good to go.

If you like punishing platformers, ActRaiser 2 and Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts should keep you busy. I'd also recommend Demon's Crest, but the difficulty is pretty average, except for that final boss fight.

Some mandatory recommendations are Kirby Super Star and Super Mario All-Stars, since you get a bunch of games in one collection.
