It's... different. Morrowind was SUPPOSED to be exotic, because it was the homeland of an exotic people. Daggerfall is supposed to be "generic fantasy" except it ends up not being generic fantasy at all (as you can see from all the lore in contributed to the series, i.e. most of it).

Daggerfall is pretty amazing. It also has the unique trait of ACTUALLY making you feel like you're in a huge, populated world, since there are hundreds of towns and npcs and such. Sure they're randomly generated and most NPCs don't have mcuh backstory or whatever, but I think that's okay. The world feels much more "real" than especially Oblivion where the capital of the entire empire seemed absolutely miniscule, and the whole imperial province seemed to only have a population of a couple thousand at most.

This motherfucker right here. I loved this game soooo much as a kid. I played it whenever I got a chance. It even spurred a period of obsessively researching WWI aviation history.

Also, STAR CRUSADER. Man I want to play that game again. Luckily I still have my copy of Red Baron.

Other things piss me off, too, though that's probably just personal pref. Like losing that feeling when you purchase a box, assembling, painting.
