I havent played OP, but I have played BMhero which I loved. I prefered Bomberman64 but its splitting hairs.

Hybrid Heaven's wrestling RPG system was solid. I'm amazed it was never used in another game ever.

I finished the game with my right leg annihilating everything and everything else sucking. No strategy really

If you focus on anything exclusively it becomes too easy. That's the problem.

>dem unique boss battles
>those large complexes you explore late in the game
>overly cheesy b-movie tier action flick vibe
>fun multiplayer with playable bosses with skills intact

This game was the shit, it's like a more action-oriented mgs.

I just realized I misspelled "Nightshade". Sorry about that, I hope no one got their hopes up this had something to do with Sade

And also the only over the shoulder shooter I can tolerate, which means it must be something special. The multiplayer is fun, especially with everyone unlocked, but I can't play it nowadays since my bro hocked the N64 and all the game, and every time I try to emulate it, giant grey rectangles just show up on screen every five seconds when i'm playing single player.

I might play that, if it existed.

Not him but if there was a remake or reboot; what would you recommend to fix the game?

If only Zoda's Revenge had been a SNES game. Maybe this franchise would still be alive today, or at the very least it'd have representation in Super Smash Bros.

That's a good question. I guess the game is kind of flawed on a fundamental level isn't it? Perhaps one idea is to give enemies weaknesse--like one type can't handle grappling or perhaps one has bad striking defense on the lower left--in order to give the player incentive to try different things, but the way the combat system operates it's not very realistic (that sounds like strategizing for a game truly dedicated to fighting). Maybe there just needs to be more constraints on move usage and power-up in general.

I'm literally playing through this for the first time right now. It's so much fun! And I can honestly say this game might have my favorite music from the entire 8 bit generation.

I already bought the sequel. Is it as great as the first?

Not the person you're replying to. It's okay, but the control's all weirded up.

and I am the person you're replying to. ST2 is good sequel with amazing music, but it's very different from the first game. Focus is on fighting rather than puzzle solving, reactionary platforming rather than decisive movement. The tropical adventure aesthetics have been replaced with various historical time periods. So, it's different. To answer your question, no, it's not as great as the original, but it's not the bad game some people make it out to be.

bushido blade 2

I don't know why everyone likes the first game better, 2 just feels way more fluid and has more control options

That was exactly what winback satisfied for me as a kid who had an n64 and gamecube only late into the ps2 generation.
