Wario thread time! Man, I love these games.

Been playing WL3 right now. It's great, but everytime anyone mentions this golf minigame they hate it. I really like it, and I find it pretty easy. Is it just me?

Oh well, Wario away.

>> No.1558067

The golf game is a completely arbitrary and unnecessary barrier that breaks the pacing of the level. That being said, I enjoy the golf game on its own.

Wario Land 3 is one of my favorite games on the GBC. The various transformations are fun to use, and the level designs are clever and varied. The treasures that change the level and the power-ups give you a constant feeling of accomplishment too. Also, it's hard not to love any game with Wario as the main character.

>> No.1558095

Just bought Wario Land 1, 3 and 4 yesterday. Can't wait for them to come.

This so much. Easily my favourite Mario character. Probably my favourite Nintendo character actually. I'd love for him to get a fully fleshed out adventure of his own on the Wii U.

OP here. Yeah, you're right, it isn't very fitting. I do enjoy it though.

Aww man, you are in for an excellent time. Do you already have 2, then?

>>1558097
Same. My Wario plushie is one of the few pieces of gaming merchandise I've gone out of my way to buy. I just hope Nintendo are still aware people care about this franchise. How many years has it been since the Wii one? Six?
Oh well... we live in hope.

That said, I think I'd prefer a 3DS game. WL always seems like it was perfect for the handheld format.

I do indeed. Had it since I was a kid but for some reason I only got around to getting the others recently. The WL on Wii is pretty great too.

I can agree with that. If they were going to do a console one I'd rather it were a sequel to Wario World that didn't, y'know... suck. Well, maybe "suck" is too harsh, but WW certainly left a lot to be desired. A 3D Wario adventure on par with the Mario games would be rad.

Apologies for the not retro, but has anyone here played Wario: Master of Disguise for the DS? I heard mixed things about it when it was released but I'm curious as to how fans of WarioLand feel about it.

Not worth it. Rather dull, and embraces the Wario stereotypes WarioWare started. Do what >>1558308 said, and try Shake It. The developers really 'got' Wario if you read the interviews behind the development.

Oh god no. Don't try Shake It at all, terrible game.

If you don't try to do the dumb stage challenges, the game is absolutely unchallenging and the level design is absolutely pathetic. Even if you try to do them, the level design is uninspired, the verious stage gimmicks are boring and a lot of things are way too samey, you get tired of the dumb cannon gimmick pretty quickly.

Play Wario LAnd 4 instead, much better game

Gotta disagree there. It's not like any of the previous games were that challenging, and the missions add some challenge if nothing else.

I'll agree that the level design isn't as good as the previous games, but there's still some interesting gimmicks, like finding the way around the boulders in the magma stages, and plenty of hidden treasure to find.

I couldn't stand 3. Way too puzzle focused for me. You'd get stuck in one level and have no idea of whether you A: Don't have the power to get past it, B: Have to go back to it in day or night, or C: You have the ability to get past but simply don't know how

I got bored of it after the fifth level or so. Got tiring beating the same levels over and over again only to still have absolutely no idea what order I was supposed to be going in.

That's not true; they love Wario and Waluigi to death in Japan. No one in house at HQ cares about anything other than Mario except for development teams outside of HQ, like alpha dream. The way development teams works outside of the present in house teams like EAD and HAL works like this.

Team has an idea
They pitch it to Nintendo
They get approved, denied, or pending for further review
Then whatever happens, happens

webmaster@intsys.co.jp

Here is the intelligent systems contact. Believe it or not, they do have people that can read and understand English. Try to word your email appropriately and less of a fan boy; and they will take notice. The more people do this, the likely they will throw a pitch of a Wario and Waluigi game to Nintendo.

I wish I can give you guys alpha dreams email; but they have none except for the domain owner, who isn't affiliated with Nintendo directly. There's only a number and a fax number. And I doubt any of you would bother to fax them a letter explaining that their fans would like to see a game like that. They'll surely read it, but rarely anybody here would go such lengths in doing so.

I know this is /vr/, but while we were on the topic; I figured Id drop by and tell you guys this. First step is always awareness, and they need to know us dirty gaijans would buy such a game.
