See, I like the idea of Hideous Destructor (I'm guessing that's the mod you're playing) but so many things in it seem clunky. The last version I played a couple of months back made the weapons slower but they also had really low-quality sounds and clunky animations so the guns didn't feel realistic, they just felt shit. You can do slow-paced weapons, but only if they're satisfying to use. Having a slow, shit-sounding weapon with a near-unanimated reload sequence just isn't fun at all.

That and making the player move at a glaciel pace...is the mod even playable on maps anymore difficult than the stock D2 ones?

What? Most of the weapons are significantly faster and stronger than their vanilla counterparts. The only real exceptions would be the SSG and the Plasma Rifle, and the former has such a damage and range buff that if it were as fast as the vanilla SSG it'd be crazy OP, and the latter is basically a completely new weapon altogether.

Depends on the type of difficulty. Maps that rely on smart placement of enemies over traps and hordes are playable. Maps that just throw a trillion revenants at you when you so much as look at an item, not so much.

Also, you're not that slow. You can't zoom around like you're in a rocket-powered wheelchair, but you've still got enough mobility to get around.

I'll give you that for the amount of recoil, but apparently it fires a "UAC 4.26mm" at +700rpm. At the very least, it's much better in bursts and/or not moving much. Besides, the gun ain't gonna hold itself down, what'd happen if you didn't actively counter muzzle flast with any other rifle in full auto?

I guess it just leaves that up to you and not for your virtual guy to automatically handle.

Fuck if I know, though, I'm just guessing.

When you reach for those shells, you'd have to let go with your trigger hand and load while the gun is just dangling with your supporting hand. If you're just topping off, you can't immediately fire if an enemy pops up. Unless you mean you have to stop what you're doing set the the gun down and undo the forearm bandolier to put it in more manageable place, that's even more awkward.

Basically, the flag is a monster you have to kill to score. And there's a lot of imps, demons, and hell knights that will do everything in their power to stop you, as well as the actual players on the other team.

I liked them enough, even if they went progressively dumber and weirder by each book.

I'd say the first book is worth at least one read, as it actually captures the feeling of the first game to a pretty nice extent, even if it's hokey.

I was thinking they were just there as spares, and that you'd load those shells into the gun when you were alone and safe.
But yes, a regular bandoleer would make much more sense for a shotgun.
That reminds me, I need to get a bandoleer for my .38

it was right the first way.
you hold the barrel and put shells in the tube underneath or in the eject port.

it would be hard to balance and dangerous as fuck with your finger on the trigger.
